Why you should vote for the Democratic Party:

Between 1995 and 2000, most efforts by Republican - dominated congress to weaken or do away with environmental laws are vetoed by President Bill Clinton.

In 2000, President Clinton protects large areas in national forests from roads and logging, and protects various parcels of public land as national monuments.

In 2001, President George Bush attempts to weaken environmental laws, curtails U.S. participation in global climate change treaty, reduces spending on energy conservation and renewable energy, and increases extraction of resources from public lands, even though the UN INternational Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) cites "new and stronger evidence that most of the observed warming during the past 50 years is attributed to human activities."
